How to Arrange Pillows on a Queen Size Bed

Having the correct size pillow arrangement on a queen or full size bed will help create a cozy and inviting atmosphere in your bedroom. Below we break down 5 of our favorite pillow arrangement options for a queen size bed.

Option 1 -

When it comes to arranging pillows on a queen or full bed the key is to make sure you have a depth of color and texture to keep the eye focused, while creating cohesion in your pillow combinations. Depending on if you’re wanting a more modern or traditional, simple or grand look you may decide to increase or decrease the number and size of your pillows.

Option 2 -

We love using extra-long lumbar or bolster pillows for a more minimalist look that still reads sophisticated. If you or your spouse isn’t a fan of making the bed and would be more likely to make it if there were less decorative pillows, you may want to give this arrangement a try.

Option 3 -

The most traditional of the three options, this classic setup can be made more modern by placing two standard pillow shams in front of the euro pillows. You can also play around with mismatching by having the two 20x20 accent pillows, which can be sized up to 22x22 if you prefer. When selecting colors and patterns you want to be complimentary and avoid mismatched patterns.

Option 4 -

When it comes to choosing the patterns and textures for your pillows a simple and easy formula is - large pattern, small pattern, solid. In this instance, we have a solid lumbar pillow, a small patten accent pillow, and a simple large stripe euro pillow.

Option 5 -

This is a trendier option, but it’s one we love! Again, another great option for our bedroom minimalists who prefer to not overcomplicate things or spend any more time than they need making the bed. Simply use two standard pillows that contrast with your bedframe and an extra long 14 x 48 lumbar. Typically we like the standard pillows in this arrangement to have a simple pattern or texture and the extra long lumbar to have more detail and color, focusing and centering the eye.
